Before choosing between the GramLine® Sawtooth/ZigZag Profile or GramLine® ColorLine® Profile,
let your eyes make the final decision!
6. Can I buy a GramLine® Steel Privacy Fence that has a different colour on each side?
We do not carry differently painted material as the cost would be prohibitive. If you insist on having a different colour on each side, GramLine® recommends you use two sheets, back to back. GramLine® has sold fence panels that have been double sheeted and we have never received a complaint! However you & your neighbour must still agree upon a common frame colour.
7. Does Steel Privacy Fencing burn your grass and flora?
Steel Privacy Fencing
does not burn your grass or flora.
8. If a dog urinates on your Privacy Fence, will it cause corrosion?
Dog urine will reduce the life expectancy of your GramLine® Steel Privacy Fence. If the dog constantly uses the same area, it will cause corrosion. To minimise the effect of this behaviour, hose down the area frequently.
9. Does Steel Privacy Fencing burn your skin when you touch it?
This can happen. All products made from steel will radiate certain levels of heat if left in the sun. For example, if you parked your car in the direct sunlight for an extended period it would heat up and might burn if you came in contact with it.
10. Are all Steel Privacy Fence Systems the same?
Most definitely not. There are many variances between the systems currently available in the market. This is why we always insist that you look for the GramLine® Brand to ensure your peace of mind. GramLine® is the only complete fencing system offering a steel plinth, posts, rails, infill sheet and 3 dimensional steel lattice. Remember we offer a Plain English 10 Year Warranty on our Steel Privacy Fencing.
11. What are some of the major differences between the systems?
All GramLine® Steel Privacy Fences are made from Quality Tested and Certified Pre-painted Hi-Tensile ColorSealed® coated steel. Our Steel Privacy Fence system is designed and tested to meet and exceed relevant Australian Standards for Steel Privacy Fencing. Some manufacturers use lighter, thinner gauges of material that may not perform as well as the tested GramLine® system. Again, look for the GramLine® Brand for peace of mind.
12. I see where one manufacturer claims that their system is certified to withstand wind gusts of 216 km/hour. Does the GramLine® system perform as well?
GramLine® has requested the basis of these tests and results but with no success. The stated wind speed of 216 kms/hour falls into a Category 3 Cyclone like Cyclone Roma which hit QLD. Could you see any type of fence surviving a cyclone like that? It is interesting to note that that same manufacturer offers a specific product for cyclone areas and yet it won’t guarantee that product in a cyclone area. Cyclones have wind gusts in excess of 90 km/hour in the centre and gusts can exceed 280 km/hour.
GramLine® invented the Sawtooth/ZigZag profile and we have installed over 14000kms of Steel Privacy Fencing. This in itself is testament to our products.
13. Is Colorbond® the only fencing product?
No. There are other steel mills around the world that produce quality tested pre-painted steel that Gram has developed strong working relations with. There is also another Australian company that paints steel using similar technology as BlueScope. The paint finish they offer is SMP which has been proven in Australian conditions for over 30 years. This coating system meets all the current Australian Standards. The one thing you can be assured of is that every GramLine® Steel Privacy Fence is made from Quality Tested and Certified Pre-painted Hi-Tensile ColorSealed® coated steel and is backed by GramLine®’s 10 Year Plain English Warranty. However there are some manufacturers who use lighter gauge thinner material that may not have the same paint thickness as the GramLine® product. Once again – LOOK for the GramLine® BRAND to ensure your peace of mind.
